Preformed Boots — molded boots that protect the cable exit
A preformed plastic boot that shrinks onto the cable when you heat it. It covers the point where the cable leaves the connector or splits into several branches, protecting it from abrasion, tension and the environment. It’s commonly called a heat shrink boot, which is also the term buyers in Italy search for.
- 14 models in 7 shapes: straight, 90°, T, V and fork with 2, 3 and 4 ways
- 8 materials with operating temperatures from −75 °C to +200 °C
- Proven resistance to JP-4 and F40 aviation fuel, hydraulic fluids and diesel fuel
- Low-smoke, low-toxicity version for railway applications

Shape memory, applied to a specific problem
The part is molded in its final shape, then expanded and cooled in that position. It has “memory”: when reheated, it returns to its original dimensions and grips whatever it covers. Some versions have a pre-coated inner adhesive that melts with the heat and bonds the boot to the cable and connector.
Backshells and boots meet complementary protection needs: the backshell protects the rear termination of the connector, while the boot reinforces and protects the transition between backshell and cable. Both are designed to limit the effects of mechanical stress, such as tension and bending, and of environmental conditions unsuited to the application.
One of the configurations can even replace the cable’s outer armor along the terminal section. The T, V and fork shapes, on the other hand, cover the harness bifurcations that would otherwise be left exposed.
Mechanical protection
Covers the cable exit from the connector and protects it from abrasion and impact.
Strain relief
Transfers stress from the termination point to the cable body.
Sealing
The hot-melt inner adhesive, pre-coated on the boot, seals the transition.
Breakouts
T, V and fork shapes cover bifurcations from 2 to 5 ways.
Fourteen models, seven basic shapes
The first choice is visual: how many openings you need and how they are arranged. Then you move on to material and size.

The code says it all
Ten characters that encode shape, number of openings, size, material and adhesive. Once you understand the logic, the part number practically builds itself.
The adhesive-lined version is not available for materials C and E. For products with adhesive sealant, the catalog refers you directly to CPE.

The complete catalog
Fifty-six pages: data sheets for all fourteen models with dimensioned drawings and size selection tables, the eight material data sheets with all test parameters, part number keys and the six cold shrink series.
Related products. Preformed Boots shrink directly onto compatible CCB circular backshells: the CB0, CB1, CB8 and CB9 series include the shrink boot option in the part number, and the one-piece versions of the C2H rectangular backshells have a dedicated groove. Where heat is not allowed, CPE offers CSX Cold Shrink accessories, which install cold.
